This position involves providing physical therapy interventions as prescribed by a licensed physician, aiming to restore function and prevent disability following injury, disease, or physical impairments.
Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and executing individualized physical treatment programs to maintain, improve, or restore physical functions, alleviate pain, or prevent dysfunction.
2. Performing and documenting initial assessments, evaluating data to identify problems, and determining diagnoses prior to intervention.
3. Monitoring and adjusting treatments to maximize benefits, and recording prognosis, treatment responses, and progress.
Target residents are those in long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English, work independently, and effectively collaborate with residents, staff, and support agencies.
Minimum qualifications:
* Licensed as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico.
* Two (2) years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Employment requirements include:
* Pre-employment and random drug testing.
* Criminal background check.
* Licensure as a Physical Therapist in New Mexico.
* Completion of HIPAA training.
Working conditions:
* Work in various settings including offices, therapy rooms, and resident rooms.
* Subject to interruptions, emergencies, and exposure to infectious conditions.
* Requires physical activity such as lifting and massaging residents.
This is a full-time, mid-senior level position in government healthcare, with a salary range of $31.11 - $49.78 hourly or $64,714 - $103,542 annually. The position is not covered by a collective bargaining agreement.
