Primary Purpose
The Supervisor, Distribution Operations provides leadership for assigned department, ensuring a safe and engaged team at all times. This role is responsible for meeting operational and team objectives, ensuring safety, quality and production standards are met. Handles all daily issues and projects under the direction of the Operations Manager. Works with all Distribution Center Departments, Transportation, and Inventory Management to ensure the timely movement of product.
Duties And Responsibilities
* Maintain a safe and positive work environment ensuring associates are treated fairly and consistently. Actions support a “Safety First” culture and ensure safe practices are employed, minimizing unsafe events and ensuring compliance with all regulations.
* Supervises day to day activities of department and assigned team.
* Provides direct oversight for warehouse associates. Manages team performance via coaching, feedback, and disciplinary efforts.
* Proactively partners with all applicable departments to ensure efficient and accurate flow of inventory in and out of distribution center, meeting commitments to retail.
* Monitors department staffing and adjusts as needed. Assists in recruiting, staffing and training activities.
* Communicates with appropriate individuals/departments during the shift that may affect other warehouse departments.
* Efficiently leads associates of the department toward attaining their individual and combined goals through hands-on guidance and training.
* Meets department operational and budget goals.
* Ensures compliance with established standards in the areas of safety, productivity and accuracy.
* Provides feedback to leadership for optimization opportunities.

* Financial & Business Acumen – Makes day-to-day decisions using business & financial concepts & principles
* Distribution Center Systems, Equipment, Automation & Technology – Fulfils the requirement of the role by demonstrating understanding of Systems, Equipment, Automation & Technology
Qualifications
* 5 or more years’ experience in general distribution operations or a BS/ BA in a related field
* High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge
* Basic understanding of business financial reports and information

* Ability to work in a –5 degree to 90+ degree Fahrenheit environment (temperature varies within each department) for long periods of time.
Preferred Requirements
* College degree preferred
* Supervisory experience of hourly associates
* Certified on powered industrial equipment
