Valid Well Control certificate per the standard defined on the training matrix Ability to use hydraulic modelling software. Computer literate including a high level of competence in Microsoft Office. Operational Discipline Requirements Disciplined application and participation in the Task Planning & Risk Assessment Process. Performs roles and responsibilities as assigned at the pre‑job meeting. Understands hazards associated with the task. Effectively implements control measures required to mitigate identified hazards. Executes all tasks and task steps in a disciplined manner, following the sequence detailed in the relevant procedures. Recognises risky behaviour or conditions during tasks and calls ‘Time out for Safety’ when unsure. Participates in After Action Reviews to provide feedback and updates to the MPD manager. Reports deviations from TOI procedures when using third‑party MPD procedures. HSE Requirements Reports all incidents, potential hazards or abnormal situations to supervisors. Actively performs work in accordance with Company Safety Processes, e.g. START, Task Planning Risk Assessment, Prompt Card, Safe Manual Handling, Working at Heights. Calls Time Out for Safety (TOFS) when the plan is unclear or an unsafe condition is observed. Participates in the rigs ‘Hold the Zero’ plan. Complies with company requirements to safeguard lone workers. Maintains a safe and organised work area throughout all tasks. Integrates the Task Planning and Risk Assessment process into all tasks. Ensures subordinate personnel are trained in the START and PTW processes. Communicates Company QHSE policies and programmes to and ensures they are understood by all personnel. Acts in weekly meetings, FOCUS Improvement Program, and other company safety management systems. Maintains high hygiene and housekeeping standards in areas of responsibility. Ensures subordinates understand their roles in the Emergency Response Plan. Performs required well‑control drills, conducts After Action Reviews and ensures findings are communicated. Ensures DROPS inspections are conducted per the rig’s inspection programme. Participates in MPD HazOp, HazID and FMECA as required by the MPD manager. Duties The underlying expectation is that all duties are carried out in compliance with the Company Operational Discipline expectations and HSE requirements. Operations / Maintenance Fully knowledgeable in all aspects of MPD operations on floating drilling vessels and MPD variants. Prepares operational procedures approved by the MPD manager and secures approval for changes. Performs all calculations for Kick Tolerance, IME and updates the Operations Matrix. Ensures all BHA and pipe tallies are accurate, with required information entered into the MPD model. Monitors maintenance, repair and installation of all MPD equipment and records inventory levels. Maintains inspection and certification records for MPD equipment and tools. Supports the Company Rig Maintenance System (AIM) for MPD department tasks with subsea. Reviews and approves all MPD‑related Permit to Work as the responsible person for the task. Supervises equipment preparation for impending MPD operations. Liaises with the MPD manager on major maintenance activities such as IRJ 12‑month inspection. When using the rig’s existing MGS, ensures the IME, Ops Matrix and procedures capture the maximum flow rates with a 100% safety factor. Plans job activities of MPD service providers and associated activities. Ensures MPD well‑control requirements are in place and supervises well‑control events. Performs all MPD well‑control calculations (e.g., mud weight, circulating pressures, strokes). Assists the Drilling Superintendent, Senior Toolpusher or OIM in coordinating third‑party personnel activities. Prepares requisition purchase orders for equipment or parts necessary to avoid MPD downtime. Ensures sufficient stock of parts and materials is maintained for MPD equipment. Communicates progress of MPD and associated operations to the Drilling Superintendent, Senior Toolpusher and OIM. Recommends adjustments to drilling parameters to improve MPD performance. Ensures regular effective well‑MPD drills are conducted and recorded. Personnel Promotes and maintains good relationships with other departments, third‑party personnel and customer representatives. Ensures MPD personnel meet training requirements per their training matrix. Mentors, coaches, develops and trains crew members for MPD competence. Provides leadership and motivation to drilling crews during MPD operations and applies continuous improvement. Mentors the driller and assistant driller in MPD operations. Carrying out MPD operations in alignment with TOI MPD training philosophy. Assists in training to ensure all personnel are competent for their assigned jobs. Participates fully in the annual performance appraisal process. Applies appropriate accountability regarding recognition, promotion or disciplinary actions up to and including discharge.
