Job Purpose
Depending on their level of knowledge and experience, the Field Specialist's role applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform tasks or jobs for a variety of products and services. Entry and intermediate level roles receive direct supervision. Senior levels provide direction to junior specialists, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and recommend changes to improve product quality. They also act as the key interface with the client at the well site, carrying responsibilities for completing service assignments and managing other personnel. This description covers all responsibilities across the levels.
Roles & Responsibilities
SAFETY, SECURITY & COMPLIANCE
Maintains highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities comply with Company’s Security, Compliance & HSE policies, management systems, and applicable laws.

Demonstrates effective safety leadership for all subordinates and visitors on Company premises.

OPERATIONS
Participates in daily operations & safety meetings, toolbox talks, JHA, and promptly reports issues.
Maintains equipment, facilities, and work area in a safe condition.
Monitors and analyzes data to recommend services and solutions.
Performs job planning, tool preparation, mobilization, execution, and submits required data for invoicing.
Available on a 24‑hour call basis to respond to customer needs.
Tests, operates, and maintains tools and equipment according to policies and safe conditions.
Builds a positive client relationship to ensure repeat business and delivers superior service quality.
Manages inventory and supplies at the well site.
Follows up failures with the R&M team and ensures closure with clients.
Contributes to equipment failure investigations supporting Root Cause Analysis.
Oversees, leads, and mentors Field Operation crew when required.
Acts as technical advisor to management and interprets data for client representatives.
Performs engineering checks on client sites (calculations, software updates).
Manages installation of complex equipment and services in the field.
Performs other duties as safely assigned by the supervisor.
COMMUNICATION
Maintains effective communication with all key stakeholders, both internally and externally.
Supervisors & managers clearly communicate expectations, roles, and responsibilities.
FINANCIAL
Allocates responsibility for financial accountability, from function budgets to personal expenses.
Ensures costs fall within approved budgets and follow financial policy and procedures.
PEOPLE & DEVELOPMENT
Develops career by completing function, compliance, and business standards training.
Engages regularly with line manager to discuss performance, objectives, and skill development.
Supports talent management through talent assessments, succession planning, and coaching.
Collaborates with HR & training to recruit and retain key personnel, fostering an environment for high performance.
VISION & LEADERSHIP
Demonstrates leadership, ethical behavior, and adherence to Weatherford standards.
Experience & Education
Required
1 – 2 ½ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
High School Diploma.
Preferred
Technical Certificate from an accredited Technical/Vocational School.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Fundamentals of Mechanics, Electricity, Electronics, Pneumatics, and/or Hydraulics.
Mathematics.
Basic Physics and Chemistry.
Computer fundamentals.
Critical thinking, active learning, listening, and complex problem solving.
Good reading and writing skills, strong judgment, and decision making.
Time management.
Quality Control Analysis to meet required standards.

Physical capability to perform required tasks.
