Job Description
The Electromechanical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing installation activities to ensure all works are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with approved safety, quality, environmental, and contractual requirements.
This role involves close coordination with contractors, customers, and internal teams to ensure correct installation, testing, documentation, and handover of electromechanical systems.
Responsibilities
Ensure all works are completed safely and in compliance with site safety and environmental plans.
Coordinate installation activities with all onsite stakeholders.
Assist the HSE team in the review and implementation of RAMS.
Continuously review RAMS in line with work progress and ensure compliance.
Ensure all plant and equipment are certified, in good condition, and operated by qualified personnel.
Ensure correct PPE usage by all onsite personnel.
Conduct pre-work briefings including RAMS review and point-of-work risk assessments.
Report hazards, near misses, safety observations, and good practices to the HSE team.
Support incident investigations when required.
Maintain good housekeeping and proper waste management practices.
Communicate and manage changes with relevant parties.
Ensure contractual commitments to the customer are met.
Participate in technical discussions with customers and consultants.
Attend weekly progress and coordination meetings.
Perform quality checks including ITR inspections and compliance with ITPs.
Ensure contractors follow safe work practices and project schedules.
Guide and support installation contractors throughout execution.
Ensure installation is carried out per latest construction drawings.
Verify use of calibrated tools and equipment.
Provide technical guidance on correct installation methods.
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure latest revisions are used.
Update site master documents with red‑line markups throughout installation.
Support engineering design reviews from a site execution and safety perspective.
Report deviations and improvements using approved quality systems.
Ensure compliance with the Site Quality Plan.
Participate in quality walks, inspections, and handover activities.
Ensure proper storage, preservation, and handling of equipment.
Assist with mechanical completion and area handover inspections.
Support planning of site activities, resources, milestones, and progress tracking.
Mentor less experienced contractors when required.
Understand and manage critical path activities and risk mitigation strategies.
Report site progress, material status, and hindrances to the project team.
Identify and implement project optimizations where possible.
Support logistics coordination to ensure timely equipment availability and correct storage.
Requirement / Must Have
Experience supervising electromechanical installation works.
Strong understanding of safety management, RAMS, and quality control processes.
Ability to coordinate contractors and multiple onsite activities.
Experience
HVDC converter or switching stations (onshore or offshore).
Transformer installation (converter and/or AC).
HV cable pulling and termination.
LV control and power cable pulling and termination.
HV main circuit equipment installation including breakers, reactors, resistors, arresters, and CTs.
AC GIS and/or AIS installations.
Skills
Site supervision and contractor management.
Safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
Installation planning and scheduling.
Technical problem‑solving and field support.
Documentation control and reporting.
Strong communication and coordination skills.
Qualification and Education
Relevant technical qualification or equivalent hands‑on experience in electromechanical installation supervision.
