The Fiscal Compliance Supervisor leads and oversees all tax and fiscal compliance activities for Brazil Operations. Responsibilities include reviewing tax calculations and ensuring the timely submission of all required declarations at the federal, state, and municipal levels, as well as filings with BACEN, IBGE, and other regulatory or statistical entities. This role safeguards full compliance, maintains good standing certifications, and ensures adherence to applicable legislation, special tax or customs regimes, and customer contract requirements. The position partners closely with Management and Statutory Accounting, Corporate Tax, Treasury, Intercompany, Supply Chain (Logistics and Procurement), and HR (Payroll and Employment Tax) to ensure accurate tax treatment and compliance across key processes, including equipment movement, payroll burdens, and PIT (IRRF) obligations. The role also manages outsourced service providers, supports audits and inspections, and leads the local fiscal compliance sub team in applying best practices and meeting all statutory deadlines.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
Tax & Fiscal Compliance Execution - Review and validate federal, state, and municipal tax calculations (IRPJ/CSLL, PIS/COFINS, ICMS, ISS, IBS, CBS, IS, IPTU, etc.). Ensure the timely submission of all statutory declarations (SPEDs, DCTF, EFDs, DIRF equivalent filings, municipal returns, and nota fiscal issuance/collection). Coordinate regulatory filings with the IRS, BACEN, IBGE, and other government or statistical entities. Maintain full compliance with legislation, special tax or customs regimes (e.g., REPETRO and specific ICMS treatments), and customer contract obligations.
Cross Functional Compliance Support - Partner with Supply Chain to ensure compliant equipment, goods, and asset movement, including ICMS compliance, nota fiscal issuance, and proper supporting documentation. Support HR in payroll tax compliance, including social burdens (INSS and FGTS) and PIT/IRRF obligations. Collaborate with Management and Statutory Accounting teams on tax accounting in corporate and local ledgers, including P&L provisioning and actuals, balance sheet reconciliations, and budget/forecast preparation for General Taxes. Work with Corporate Tax, Treasury, Legal and Intercompany teams to ensure correct tax treatment across all business processes.
Governance, Controls & Risk Management - Maintain internal controls related to fiscal compliance and tax reporting. Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely adjustments to internal processes. Participate in Tax Committees (Tax Reform, Optimization/Savings Projects, ABESPETRO). Safeguard good standing certifications and adherence to compliance requirements across all regulatory bodies.
Audit, Inspection & Authority Liaison - Manage responses to tax audits, fiscal inspections, official notices, and inquiries from authorities at all government levels. Coordinate documentation, supporting analyses, and interactions with external auditors and tax advisors.
Team Leadership & Vendor Oversight - Lead, mentor, and develop the Brazil fiscal compliance sub team. Oversee outsourced compliance and advisory service providers to ensure proper fiscal documentation (e.g., nota fiscal) retrieval, accuracy, quality, and adherence to cut off dates and tax calendar deadlines. Promote best practices, operational excellence, and continuous process improvement. Recruit, coach, and develop assigned personnel.
Perform miscellaneous tasks as required, including the preparation of slide presentations for senior management and other stakeholders' reviews.
Education
Minimum Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Law, or related field.
Preferred Level: Bachelor’s degree with Post‑Graduate specialization or MBA in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
Experience
Minimum Required: 5+ years of experience in fiscal compliance and accounting operations within Brazil, including routine tax reporting, statutory filings, and tax accounting responsibilities. Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration.
Preferred Level: Supervisory experience in a multi‑entity or multi‑country financial reporting environment, with exposure to corporate‑level tax, treasury, and compliance processes.
Skills
Minimum Required: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; solid bookkeeping foundation; working knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS and Brazilian statutory accounting requirements; strong understanding of local fiscal and tax compliance rules. Must be proficient in written and spoken Portuguese and English.
Preferred Level: Hands‑on experience in full fiscal compliance preparation; advanced Excel skills; familiarity with ERP systems and tax compliance solutions; strong analytical and documentation abilities.
