Overview
TheTechnician SupervisorandRegistered Veterinary Technician (RVT)roles are essential to the smooth operation of the hospital. While the RVT focuses on direct patient care and technical support for veterinarians the Technician Supervisor leads the technician team ensuring efficiency training and coordination. Candidates would be expected to manage both roles seamlessly.
Technician Supervisor Core Responsibilities
Leadership & Coordination : Manage daily operations delegate tasks and ensure fair workload distribution.
Training Oversight : Monitor technician training progress and collaborate with trainers.
Performance Management : Conduct reviews set goals and handle conflict resolution.
Scheduling & HR Support : Assist in hiring processes and collaborate with Scheduler on needs of the department.
Team Development : Coach team members and foster a positive work environment.
Registered Veterinary Technician Key Duties
Medical Support : Assist in surgeries administer anesthesia monitor vitals and perform emergency procedures.
Technical Skills : Perform lab tests radiographs ultrasounds and dental cleanings.
Client Interaction : Educate clients prepare estimates and handle discharge instructions.
Nursing Care : Monitor patient conditions administer treatments and maintain cleanliness.
Record Keeping : Document procedures conversations and ensure completeness of medical records.
Imaging & Lab Work : Operate diagnostic equipment and maintain lab supplies.
Combined Core Responsibilities
Provide compassionate care to patients and clients.
Maintain professionalism confidentiality and teamwork.
Assist in surgical dental and medical procedures.
Administer medications and monitor patient recovery.
Maintain accurate medical records and client communication.
Participate in training and continuing education.
Qualifications preferred but not required
High School Diploma or Equivalent
RVT Certification (CVT / RVT)
Minimum 2 years of RVT experience
Physically able to handle animals.
Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
