Patent Paralegal Project Coordinator
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to oversee and manage patent filing requests. As a Patent Paralegal Project Coordinator, you will work closely with clients, translators, and internal teams to ensure that all requests are delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest standards.
Your role will involve coordinating various aspects of patent filings, including budgeting, scheduling, docketing, document submission, and quality assurance. This is a full-time, remote position. Working hours will be in Pacific Standard Time (United States time zone). Candidates must be able to commit to working Monday - Friday 9:00am - 5:30pm PST.
Proficiency in English (spoken and written) is required for this role as you will be working with English-speaking teammates and clients.
Key Responsibilities:
* Preparation of Documents: Prepare all documents required in connection with EP, PCT and foreign applications.
* Response to Official Communications: Proactively initiate the preparation of responses to official communications and notifications.
* Filing and Correspondence: Coordinate filings of EP/international and foreign patent applications and related correspondence from filing to issuance of grant.
* Project Management: Monitor all assigned cases and proactively ensure that all related deadlines are met in a timely manner.
Essential Skills and Required Experience:
* A minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a patent paralegal in either a law firm or corporate setting.
* Experience working with EP, PCT and foreign applications.
* Strong organizational, leadership and management abilities.
* Significant experience managing complex projects.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A successful track record of collaboration with diverse stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Strong experience implementing translation tools into existing workflows.
* Comfort working with CAT tools (memoQ fluency a plus) and various Machine Translation engines.
* The ability to define processes and standards for translation and quality assurance.
* Skilled at training internal and external users in MTPE & TM workflows.
* Skilled at vendor recruitment and negotiations.
