This role will be responsible for seeing beyond individual transactions to identify recurring patterns, inefficiencies, and opportunities across our clinical organization. They will design scalable solutions that reduce friction, improve spend transparency, and align purchasing behavior with our business goals. This role oversees a team of procurement professionals and collaborates closely with cross-functional stakeholders.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Develop, lead, and execute global procurement strategies aligned with business goals.Lead and develop a global team of procurement professionals by providing coaching, feedback and professional development opportunities.Identify cost-saving opportunities and negotiate global contracts with vendors and suppliers.Analyze purchasing behavior across all clinical sites to identify fragmentation, inefficiencies, or unmanaged spend and implement related procurement strategies.Manage the entire procurement process, from requisition to payment, ensuring timely and accurate purchasing.Evaluate supplier performance based on quality standards, delivery time, and price.Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure supply chain stability.Collaborate with internal departments such as Operations, Finance, Business Development and Proposals to understand purchasing needs and requirements.Act as the primary interface between the clinical business unit and corporate procurement for categories not currently managed by group teams.Ensure alignment with corporate sourcing strategies, policies, and preferred vendor frameworks where applicable.Analyze market trends and apply knowledge to make insightful buying decisions.Design and implement scalable buying practices and processes in procurement and supply chain management within our clinical business unit, including smaller day to day categories not traditionally the focus of group procurement based on overall spend,Ensure compliance with corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements.Maintain accurate tracking tools and prepare regular reports for senior management.Maintain compliance with Sharp’s Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).Maintain compliance with all applicable departmental spreadsheets, filing and administration processes.Undertake specific tasks / projects as directed by the Global, Pricing Director.Set team goals, monitor KPIs, and foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and client satisfaction.Assist with on-the-job training as and when required.Other duties as assignedQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Professional experience in procurement or supply chain management within regulated environments may be considered in place of a degree7+ years of progressive experience in procurement or supply chain managementIn-depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement principles, best practices, and market dynamicsDemonstrable expertise in contract negotiation and supplier managementStrong organizational, team development and time management skillsExcellent leadership, coaching and performance management capabilitiesExcellent oral and written communication is required to communicate with the team, peers, management and external contactsExperience managing timelines and deliverables across different departmentsExcellent technology skills, including proficiency with Excel and strong working knowledge of SAP, Cognos, SMARTSHEETS.Strong desire to learn and be part of a dynamic, skilled teamKnowledge of drug development stages (preclinical, clinical, and commercial)Global experience working with both US and international suppliesExperience in pharmaceutical supply chain/CMO/CDMO strongly preferredMust be willing and able to travel up to 15% (domestic and international) via automobile, plane, train, or other forms of public transportation.
