Job Description
As a Podcast Audio Editor, you will be responsible for editing podcast audio files, enhancing sound quality, implementing sound design, adding music, and ensuring overall quality control for each episode.
The role involves working closely with the content team to maintain brand consistency and meet deadlines efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Editing raw podcast audio into polished, broadcast-ready episodes
* Removing filler words, false starts, redundancies, and off-topic tangents
* Improving pacing, clarity, and flow without changing the speaker's voice or intent
* Restructuring sections when needed based on how questions were answered
* Inserting intro/outro, sponsor reads, disclaimers, or updates when required
* FOLLOWING EMBEDDED AUDIO NOTES AND WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY
* Delivering clean final WAV/MP3 files on deadline
* Producing 3–4 short clips per episode for marketing use
* Supporting up to two rounds of edits per episode when requested
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience editing long-form podcasts (interview or narrative style)
* Strong editorial judgment — you know what to cut and why
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
* Comfortable working with physician and expert-level conversations
* Fast, reliable turnaround times
* Clear, professional communication
* Familiarity with tools like Descript, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, or similar

Qualifications:
* Proficiency in Audio Editing, including cleaning, trimming, and fine-tuning audio files
* Experience with Sound Design and the ability to enhance audio with effects and background elements
* Knowledge of Sound and Music production basics to seamlessly incorporate them into content
* Strong Editing skills paired with attention to detail to maintain high-quality output
* Familiarity with audio editing software such as Adobe Audition, Audacity, or similar tools
* Ability to work independently, communicate effectively with teams, and meet deadlines
* Experience in podcast production is a plus
* Background in audio engineering, media production, or a related field is beneficial
