Shopify Developer Cro - Your work will directly impact conversion (goal: 0. 85% 1. 6% in 90 days) and you''ll collaborate with our CRO strategist, growth, and ops teams. This is a technical execution role not strategy only. Core Responsibilities1. Front-End Shopify Development- Rebuild key templates (Home, Collection, PDP, Cart, Checkout) with a mobile-first, conversion-focused approach. - Implement CRO/UI enhancements: trust signals, sticky ATC, bundles, urgency, reviews, upsells, cart optimization. - Replace heavy apps with custom code when possible to increase performance reduce cost. 2. Speed & Performance Optimization- Bring load speeds under 2. 5 seconds across top pages. - Remove theme bloat: unused scripts, oversized media, duplicate app calls. - Implement:- Code splitting- Minification compression- Defer/async scripts- Lazy loading- Image optimization via Shopify CDN- Maintain a clean, version-controlled deployment workflow. 3. Conversion & Funnel Optimization- Diagnose and fix checkout drop-offs friction points (Shop Pay, PayPal, Prime, etc. ). - Improve ATC rate, product discovery, clarity, and mobile usability. - Implement A/B testing variants from the CRO team or propose your own. 4. Tracking, Instrumentation & Analytics- Configure and maintain GA4 event tracking (ATC, IC, upsells, search behavior, scroll depth, etc. ). - Set up session recording and heatmaps (Hotjar or Clarity). - Interpret funnels with the team and provide actionable recommendations. 5. Reporting & Communication- Weekly updates on:- Conversion rate trends- AOV impacts- Funnel drop-off changes- Site issues or speed regressions- Maintain clear documentation and async communication with product, ops, and design. Requirements- 3 years building custom Shopify themes (Liquid, JSON, JS, CSS, Shopify APIs). - Proven results improving mobile conversion and checkout/speed performance. - Hands-on experience with Dawn/OS 2. 0 custom theme development. - Strong frontend fundamentals: modular Liquid architecture, performance-first coding, clean components. - Deep Shopify optimization skills: theme speed improvements, app performance audits, and custom replacements for heavy apps. - Experience working with high-volume DTC brands. Nice-to-Have- Experience with CRO tools (Rebuy, Bundler, Zipify, Okendo, Stamped). - GA4 modeling, attribution & Shopify Pixel system. - Headless / Hydrogen experience. - Hotjar / Clarity usage for experience analysis. - Familiarity with Klaviyo event triggers. - Experience partnering with CRO strategists, designers, or A/B testing teams.
