Regarding the opportunity:
This remote contract role involves developing innovative machine learning solutions for retail pricing. The successful candidate will translate complex real-world problems into mathematical objectives, considering customer and operational constraints.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and deploy machine learning models in production environments at scale
* Apply ML best practices, including A/B testing, pipelines, feature engineering, and experiment design
* Develop proficiency with scientific libraries (numpy, pandas, polars) and ML tools (ScikitLearn, Tensorflow, Keras, PyTorch)
* Work with large-scale datasets and big data tools (Apache Beam, Apache Kafka, Spark)
* Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and fluency in Python and SQL
Desirable Skills:
* PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field
* Background in applying ML techniques to solve real-world business problems in the retail sector, especially pricing
* Familiarity with MLOps tools and pipelines
* Leadership experience and ability to inspire teams
Coding Challenge: A one-hour Python and SQL challenge is required as part of the interview process.
