Job Description
This is a unique opportunity to join our growing engineering team as a Senior C#/.NET Developer with Database Expertise. We are seeking an experienced professional who can take ownership of critical systems and drive architectural decisions. This role requires deep database expertise, including design, optimization, and performance tuning. You will work across application code, database architecture, and Azure infrastructure, partnering closely with product and engineering leadership to deliver scalable, reliable systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and evolve database schemas, indexes, queries, and stored procedures to support high-performance application workloads
2. Own database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning across environments
3. Manage availability, backup/restore, disaster recovery, and survivability strategies in Azure SQL
4. Monitor and proactively address performance bottlenecks, deadlocks, blocking, and resource contention
5. Own database cost management in Azure, including sizing, scaling strategies, and cost optimization
Software Development & Feature Delivery:
1. Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade applications and services using C# and .NET
2. Build application features that interact deeply with the database, balancing correctness, performance, and maintainability
3. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and backend services that integrate with internal and third-party systems
Azure Cloud & DevOps:
1. Design and operate solutions using Microsoft Azure, with a focus on reliability and observability
2. Support CI/CD pipelines and deployment practices using Azure DevOps
Required Qualifications:
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7+ years of professional experience in C#/.NET software development
- Strong written and spoken English (C1 or C2 proficiency)
Technical Skills (Priority Order):
1. Strong SQL Server / Azure SQL expertise, including advanced T-SQL, stored procedures, query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning
2. Proven experience owning database operations, including backup, restore, high availability, disaster recovery, performance monitoring, and scaling
3. Expert-level proficiency in C#, .NET Core, and .NET Framework
4. Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and Microsoft Azure services
Bonus Points:
Microsoft Azure certifications (Developer Associate, Solutions Architect, or similar), experience with Plivo or Twilio, strong understanding of DevOps practices and production operations
