Job Description
What you'll need to succeed as a Service Center Manager at XPO
* 5 years of supervisory experience
* Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, transportation rules and regulations, OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and Tariff rules, and company policies and procedures
* Experience with Microsoft Office
* A valid driver's license
* Availability to work various shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and travel as needed
Minimum Qualifications
* 5 years of supervisory experience
* Thorough knowledge of and experience with the Less-than-Truckload (LTL) industry, transportation rules and regulations, OSHA standards, hazardous materials regulations, NMFC and Tariff rules, and company policies and procedures
* Experience with Microsoft Office
* A valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree, 4 years of related work experience, or equivalent military experience
* Experience with process improvement and the use of Lean and/or Six Sigma
* Forklift experience
* Able to multitask and prioritize work with excellent organizational skills
* Experience in an LTL environment
* Solid analytical skills
* Exceptional leadership, communication, presentation, and administrative skills

What You'll Do On a Typical Day
* Supervise employees reporting to the service center, including tracking hours, handling payroll issues, personnel changes, and coaching/training staff
* Plan daily staffing to ensure timely freight delivery and pickup
* Communicate regularly with staff about productivity and policies
* Identify opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
* Maintain safe and clean working conditions
* Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and policies
* Manage documentation and procedures for hazardous materials shipments
Service Center Managers Are Required To
* Frequently lift up to 50 lbs., occasionally over 75 lbs.
* Reach, bend, climb, push, pull, twist, squat, and kneel
* Stand and walk for extended periods, sometimes on slippery surfaces
* Work outdoors in various weather conditions
