We're looking for an experienced Scrum Master to bring structure, clarity, and momentum to a fast-moving software team. This is a hands-on role focused on establishing Agile practices from the ground up in an early-stage, ambiguous environment.
You'll work closely with engineers and non-technical stakeholders to manage the product backlog, run effective sprints, and ensure the team delivers the right work—at a sustainable pace and with high quality.
This is a remote role | 25-40 hrs/week
What You'll Do
Agile Delivery & Team Facilitation:
* Implement and evolve Scrum practices in an environment without existing process
* Facilitate all Agile ceremonies (planning, standups, reviews, retrospectives)
* Establish sprint cadence, velocity tracking, and continuous improvement rhythms
* Coach teams on Agile best practices and remove delivery impediments
* Manage dependencies and protect team focus across a service-oriented architecture
Backlog & Requirements Management:
* Own and prioritize the product backlog with key stakeholders
* Write clear, detailed user stories with acceptance criteria
* Decompose epics, groom the backlog multiple sprints ahead, and ensure work is development-ready
* Balance feature delivery with technical debt and long-term product health
Stakeholder, Quality & Release Coordination:
* Translate complex stakeholder needs into actionable technical requirements
* Create and maintain lightweight documentation, workflows, and functional specs
* Define and enforce a clear Definition of Done
* Coordinate UAT, production releases, and post-release issue triage
* Champion quality practices including testing, code reviews, and CI/CD
What We're Looking For
* 5+ years of experience in a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or similar Agile delivery role
* Proven success introducing Agile processes from scratch in startup or highly unstructured environments
* Strong ability to gather requirements and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
* Excellent written communication skills, including user stories, acceptance criteria, and documentation
* Comfortable operating independently, making decisions, and thriving amid ambiguity
* Able to balance delivery speed with quality and long-term sustainability
* Clear communicator across both technical and non-technical audiences
* Track record of building Agile systems and practices that teams actually adopt and maintain
It is an Asset if you have
* Experience in regulated or compliance-driven environments
* Exposure to AI-driven products or conversational interfaces
* Familiarity with Agile tooling such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar
