About the Role:
We are seeking a seasoned investigative expert to join our team in Brazil. As an Intelligence Manager, you will be responsible for leading complex investigations into high-risk money laundering, sanctions, and organised crime cases.
* Conducting thorough, intelligence-led investigations into suspicious transactions and customer activity
* Identifying emerging trends and patterns in financial crime, providing actionable insights to inform risk mitigation strategies
* Ensuring timely and accurate reporting to regulatory bodies and supporting MLROs with defensible narratives and documentation
* Escalating systemic gaps identified through investigations and coordinating remediation with cross-functional teams
* Providing data-driven updates on investigations, risk trends, and control effectiveness to senior management and governance forums
Requirements:
* 7+ years of experience leading AML and fraud investigations within a financial institution or fintech, including exposure to layering, scams, and synthetic identities
* A solid understanding of BCB and COAF frameworks, including SAR requirements and fraud-reporting obligations
* Experience identifying systemic gaps, raising risk incidents, and designing remediation plans across AML and fraud controls
* Expertise in reading and interpreting transaction data, using tools such as Looker and SQL to detect typologies and outliers
* The ability to prepare clear, defensible reports and narratives for regulatory filings and internal governance forums
Preferred Qualifications:
* The ability to perform deep data exploration using SQL, Python, or visualisation tools to detect typologies or anomalies
* Confidence presenting findings, risk summaries, and recommendations to senior management and regulators
* Interest in coaching junior investigators and supporting FinCrime capability growth in Brazil
* Prior exposure to regulatory inspections or audits, including BCB or internal audit follow-ups, with experience presenting control evidence
