Overview
Accounting Specialist role at Aurora Cooperative
Responsibilities

Accounts Receivable

Assisting customers over the phone and in person with questions about billing.
Posting payments, processing energy transactions, and reconciling sales and deposits from locations.
Maintain reporting tasks for account and payment reconciliation.


Accounts Payable

Match invoices with receivers and purchase orders and prep for processing
Responsible for processing specified vendors
Process invoices for payment
Assist with resolving questions and conflicts on invoices
Assure proper approvals are obtained for payments
Maintain reporting tasks for validation on accounts payable invoice


Supply

Seasonal supply payables support (Spring Fertilizer/Freight, Late Summer Seed, etc.)
Assist Finance Specialist on financing through 3rd party finance vendors (Rado, JDF, CC)
Assist Finance Specialist with FIR’s and payments received through FIR process.
Seed warehouse support for Seed Procurement Manager and seed warehouse crews.


Other Job Functions

Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
Provide additional support to other divisions within the company as needed
Provide support to customer service representative as scheduled.
Assist co-workers with questions and miscellaneous information
Ability to plan, organize, and handle multiple tasks. Prioritize work, and deal with deadlines.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a self-starter who requires little supervision.
Willing to work additional hours beyond the normal work week during month end, year-end, and audit preparation.



Qualifications

Experience In Accounting, Billing, And Credit Preferred.
Education Requires a minimum of an associate’s degree in accounting with a bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred. Comparable experience may substitute education.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
Ability to communicate effectively with company managers, employees, customers, stockholders, and outside third-party interests
Demonstrated organization, planning, and problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and with ability to perform under schedules and deadlines
Proven computer and attention-to-detail skills and the ability to use the computer to enhance business processes


Other Requirements

A valid driver’s license
Must be able to move/lift up to 25 pounds
Specific vision abilities are required such as close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
