Responsibilities:
* Welding of metal parts using appropriate equipment to join, reinforce, or repair mechanical parts or assemblies.
* Perform activities in confined spaces following safety procedures.
* Assist the Welder II in evaluating parts to be welded, consulting technical drawings, specifications, or other instructions to organize the work process.
* Deposit welds following procedures (EPS) written by qualified professionals for special services.
* Assist the Welder II in interpreting welding procedure specifications.
* Perform preventive, corrective maintenance, and manufacturing services on structures and equipment parts.
* Perform welding using MIG, TIG, and SMAW processes.
* Assist the Welder II in evaluating equipment and suggest improvements.
* Implement modifications to eliminate risks and unsafe conditions.
* Work as a team, share decisions with supervisors and team members.
* Assist in identifying specifications for welding procedures, including pre-heating, interpass temperature, cleaning, and deposition techniques.
* Identify consumables required for welding, such as electrode types and sizes.
* Interpret technical drawing symbols related to welding.
* Understand basic concepts of welding equipment handling (amperage, voltage, polarity).
* Master concepts of electric arc, circuit voltage, arc length variation, and arc opening.
* Identify risks in the metallic materials welding process and implement preventive measures.
* Observe quality aspects in cutting and welding processes.
* Manage waste disposal and selective collection related to welding, cutting, and grinding of metallic materials.
* Perform activities on OZ Minerals equipment and facilities to increase availability and continuous improvement, using resources and materials properly, respecting organizational values and legal requirements related to health, safety, and environment.
Mandatory requirements:
* Complete high school education.
* Knowledge of welding processes and their interface with maintenance.
* Experience in welding.
* Knowledge in using welding tools and machines.
Desirable requirements:
* Technical education in Welding.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
