Job Summary
The Academic Success Center at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring several Desk Assistants to provide reliable clerical assistance and outstanding customer service to students, staff and the community.

Position ends 12/31/2026
Essential Functions
65% - Greets and logs students in and out for Center usage; provides front-line customer service and clerical assistance and information to students, staff and visitors.
20% - Maintain accuracy of student log-in records; performs data entry
15% - Connects students with tutors; stocks center with materials; performs duties commensurate to position; other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Applicants must have all Financial Aid paperwork complete and on file with the EMCC Financial Aid office, be eligible for Federal Work Study and enrolled for Fall 2025/Spring 2026
* Familiar with computer applications (MS Office, Google workspace) or successful completion ("A" or "B") in CIS105.
* Strong customer service and effective verbal and written communication skills.

Experience handling confidential information.

Student must be attending Estrella Mountain Community College during the current semester (enrolled in a minimum of 6 credits in the Fall 2025 semester).
In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the EMCC Financial Aid Office for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.
FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.
