We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Systems Engineer III (Linux) to join our InComm Operations team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Red Hat and Oracle Linux system administration, automation with Ansible and Ansible Automation Platform, as well as deep expertise in Linux patching, scripting, and GIT version control. This role is critical to ensuring our Linux-based infrastructure is secure, stable, and scalable.
Role is remote and CLT (Insurance, Meal Vouchers, Equipment, and more!)
Responsibilities:
* Design, implement, and manage Linux system infrastructure, primarily Red Hat and Oracle Linux.
* Develop, maintain, and optimize Ansible playbooks and roles for configuration management and deployment automation.
* Use Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) to manage enterprise-wide automation strategies.
* Perform advanced Linux patching, security updates, and OS hardening.
* Write and maintain Bash scripts for automation and system maintenance tasks.
* Administer and support Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patching, and lifecycle management.
* Troubleshoot and resolve complex Linux system issues in a timely manner.
* Collaborate with DevOps, application, and security teams to ensure consistent environments.
* Manage source code and configuration using GIT repositories.
* Monitor system performance, reliability, and security using industry-standard tools.
* Document processes, system changes, and configurations.
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in Linux System Administration (Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Oracle Linux).
* Strong proficiency in Ansible, including custom module development and troubleshooting.
* Hands-on experience with Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) in enterprise environments.
* Advanced bash scripting skills for automation and system tasks.
* Proficient in GIT for version control and collaboration.
* Experience with Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning and patch management.
* Deep understanding of Linux patching strategies, kernel upgrades, and OS lifecycle management.
* Experience working in secure, enterprise IT environments.
* Excellent problem-solving, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
* Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or equivalent certification.
* Experience with other scripting languages such as Python or Perl.
* Familiarity with configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools.
* Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure) with Linux workloads.
Work Environment:
* Requires participation in on-call rotation and after-hours support.
* Fast-paced, collaborative IT infrastructure team.
