OverviewWe're looking for aSenior AI Engineerwho is both deeply technical and highly product‑focused - someone who enjoys understanding real customer problems and building AI systems that meaningfully improve user experiences. You'll design and implement end‑to‑end AI workflows, LLM‑powered agents, and intelligent features that support our healthcare operations. This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in a fast‑moving environment, communicates clearly, and enjoys working in the open.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain AI workflows and agent-based systems that power intelligent healthcare operations.Work extensively with LLMs (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) - including prompt engineering, evaluation, and fine-tuning.Build AI-driven features such as document processing, compliance automation, recommendation systems, voice-to-text and text-to-voice integrations.Collaborate closely with product, engineering, and ops teams to understand user needs and translate them into functional AI solutions.Develop and deploy backend services using, PostgreSQL, and vector databases.Use RAG pipelines to deliver more accurate and context-aware content generation.Integrate and orchestrate workflows using n8n, Zapier, Vellum, or similar tools.Monitor system performance and continuously refine AI behaviors based on real usage patterns.Design, test, and optimize prompt engineering strategies to improve reliability, accuracy, and performance of LLM outputs.Communicate openly and proactively - sharing work-in-progress, documenting decisions, and collaborating asynchronously.Requirements5+ years of full-time experience in software development.3+ years of hands-on experience in AI/ML engineering.Strong practical experience with LLMs, including OpenAI models.Proficiency with Python, FastAPI, PostgreSQL, and vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant).Experience building systems involving document AI, recommendation engines, speech/voice integrations, or similar modalities.Proven ability to architect and scale agent-based systems and AI workflows.Familiarity with workflow/orchestration tools: n8n, Zapier, Vellum, or similar.Strong product intuition - you think in terms of user problems, not just technical tasks.Experience in prompt engineering, including designing evaluation frameworks and iterative optimization techniques.Ability to work in a remote, asynchronous environment with strong writing clarity and communication habits.Cultural Qualities We ValueCustomer‑centric mindset: You aim to deeply understand how our healthcare users work, think, and struggle - and enjoy building solutions that make their jobs easier.Writing clarity + working in the open: We operate remotely; sharing context, decisions, and progress in writing is essential.Ownership & project management: Engineers drive projects end‑to‑end - scoping, milestones, timelines, and ensuring quality delivery.
