Position Overview
Responsible for planning, developing, and implementing the R&D pipeline, working collaboratively with the production team to support the implementation of new technologies, and facilitating the execution of assessments in accordance with global guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise the activities of the Polymers Laboratory, ensuring compliance with deadlines, quality standards, and technical goals.
- Lead research, development, and innovation projects focused on polymers used in processes and applications for the coatings, construction, adhesives, and paper industries.
- Develop, test, validate, and optimize chemical formulations and new products.
- Manage the team of researchers, technicians, and interns, fostering technical development and alignment with strategic objectives.
- Work in an integrated manner with Production, Quality, and Commercial areas.
- Monitor technological trends, new raw materials, and innovations in the chemical and paper markets.
- Prepare technical reports, technical opinions, project documentation, and results presentations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality standards, and good laboratory practices.
- Support industrial trials and the implementation of new products with customers.
Required Competencies:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related fields.
- Knowledge of polymer characterization techniques and laboratory testing.
- Intermediate or advanced technical English and Spanish.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in development laboratory (Emulsion polymerization).
- Minimum 2 years of management experience
