**Role**: Industrial Designer and 3D Modeling Specialist
**Hours**: 8am - 5pm Mountain Standard Time
**USD Rate**: $1,600 - $2,400 per month | $10 - $15 per hour (Open for negotiation based on experience)
Transform product ideas into clear visual concepts and precise, manufacturable 3D models. This role is first and foremost about concept visualization, 3D CAD, and user-centered design. Manufacturing coordination and competitive research are supportive, secondary functions.
**Key Responsibilities (Primary)**:
- Concept Visualization
Translate initial product ideas into clear, visually engaging sketches/drawings—serving as the bridge from raw innovation to a design everyone can see and understand.
- 3D Modeling & CAD
Build precise CAD models (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD or similar) that are dimensionally accurate and manufacturable, including the measurements and technical details required for production.
- User-Centered Design
**Secondary Responsibilities (Supportive)**:
- Manufacturing Handoff & Follow-Through
Package models, drawings, and specs for suppliers; answer questions and track revisions to maintain intent and fit/function through early samples. (Not a quality role.)
- Market/Competitive Research (as needed)
Perform targeted research to inform unique functions, features, and brand-aligned decisions.
**Requirements**:
- Education/Experience: Bachelor's in Industrial/Product Design, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Track Record: 3+ years designing consumer products from concept through CAD to early production/samples.
- CAD Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks, Fusion 360, AutoCAD (or comparable), including assemblies, tolerances, and drawing packages.
- Communication: Clear written and verbal skills; able to document decisions, version control, and supplier-facing notes.
- Execution: Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate, manufacturable models on tight timelines.
- Portfolio (include sketches and CAD for consumer products)
**Preferred Qualifications**:
- Familiarity with injection molding, mechanisms, or consumer product assemblies.
- Experience preparing design packs for overseas manufacturing partners.
- Exposure to packaging or instructions that communicate function clearly.
