Technical Business Analyst – FIX Protocol / Trading Applications

We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with strong experience in FIX Protocol and trading applications to support technology initiatives within a global financial services environment.

This role requires a professional who can work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, application development teams and vendors to gather, analyze, document and validate business and technical requirements for trading-related systems.

The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with SQL queries, UNIX log analysis, functional specifications, data flows, system integrations and UAT support .

Key responsibilities

• Gather, analyze and document business, functional and technical requirements for trading applications.
• Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, vendors and product teams to define and validate technology solutions.
• Create and maintain functional specifications, business rules, exception rules and process documentation.
• Analyze system data across multiple platforms, including UNIX, FIX, Oracle, SQL Server and mainframe environments .
• Perform SQL queries and UNIX log analysis to support requirements definition, issue investigation and validation.
• Translate business needs into clear technical requirements for development teams.
• Support data sourcing activities, validating data completeness from acquisition through report or system delivery.
• Define and support testing requirements, test cases and UAT activities.
• Conduct functional walkthroughs and obtain business sign-off.
• Track project risks, defects, change requests and delivery status.
• Support multiple projects or workstreams in parallel within the software development lifecycle.

Required experience

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst .
• Strong experience with FIX Protocol .
• Experience working with trading applications or capital markets platforms.
• Hands-on experience with SQL queries .
• Experience with UNIX log analysis .
• Ability to write clear functional and technical requirements.
• Experience creating FSDs , business requirements, test cases and UAT documentation.
• Good understanding of system integrations, data flows and application troubleshooting.
• Ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business requirements to technical teams.
• Experience working with developers, vendors, product managers and business SMEs.
• Advanced English for communication with global teams.

Nice to have

• Experience in financial services, brokerage, investment banking, wealth management or capital markets.
• Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server or mainframe environments.
• Experience with data governance standards.
• Experience leading small projects or coordinating workstreams.
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models.

Ideal profile

The ideal candidate is not a purely functional BA. We are looking for a hands-on Technical Business Analyst who understands trading systems, can analyze FIX messages, read UNIX logs, write SQL queries, document requirements clearly and work directly with both business and technology teams.
