Key Responsibilities:
•Patrolling and maintaining a secure campus environment
•Enforcing laws, issuing citations, and making arrests when necessary
•Responding to alarms, emergencies, and ensuring building security
•Adhering to departmental, university, and legal policies and procedures
•Continuous professional development and training
•Maintaining proficiency in firearms, defensive tactics, and emergency preparedness
•Conducting thorough investigations, evidence gathering, and collaborating with external agencies
• Fostering positive community relationships, promoting crime prevention, and providing assistance services
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or GED
• Valid Driver's License
• ACT 120 Certification required
• One to three years related work experience
• Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills
• Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
This position is classified as Essential Services Staff, meaning it is required to report to campus and remain on-site during inclement weather or other emergency situations. Essential Services Staff are vital to delivering student services and maintaining campus facilities, safety, and security. Additionally, this role involves driving University-owned vehicles as a routine function, so a valid Driver's License and a good driving record are required.
