What Will Your Next Role Look Like?
As our Content Licensing & Partnerships [IP], you will be instrumental in building and managing Peliplat’s content library, ensuring we acquire and utilize film rights strategically to maximize engagement and business impact.
You will work at the intersection of content, legal, and strategy—helping us deliver high-quality, culturally relevant films while maintaining a cost-efficient, scalable licensing model.
Beyond traditional content acquisition, this role requires a strong focus on strategic partnerships and value-driven collaborations, balancing paid procurement with innovative approaches to securing rights without upfront costs.
Key Responsibilities
Copyright Acquisition & Licensing
* Identify, evaluate, and acquire film and TV titles aligned with user demand and platform strategy.
* Negotiate short-term, non-exclusive licensing agreements across multiple regions.
* Balance budget-based acquisition with partnership-driven deals, securing content through both paid licensing and creative, value-exchange collaborations.
* Develop and execute strategic partnerships with rights holders, studios, distributors, and filmmakers to obtain content under flexible and cost-efficient structures.
* Support themed programming such as retrospectives, premieres, and special screenings.
Content Strategy Alignment
* Collaborate with Content and Marketing teams to align licensing with campaigns and community trends.
* Use data (e.G., wishlists, engagement metrics) to guide acquisition decisions and optimize ROI.
Partnership Development
* Build, leverage, and expand strong relationships with studios, distributors, and independent filmmakers.
* Activate existing industry networks and distribution channels to accelerate deal flow and execution.
* Support creator-led screenings and partnership initiatives.
Rights Management & Compliance
* Ensure all content usage complies with licensing agreements and regional regulations.
* Manage licensing timelines, renewals, and expirations.
* Support policies for UGC usage of copyrighted materials.
Who You Are
* Passionate about film, distribution, and the evolving media landscape.
* A strategic thinker who can balance creative deal-making, legal constraints, and business outcomes.
* Detail-oriented with strong negotiation and analytical skills.
* Comfortable operating in high-stakes negotiations and fast-paced, evolving startup environments.
* Resourceful and entrepreneurial, with the ability to unlock opportunities beyond traditional licensing models.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Law, Media, Business, or related field.
* 5–10+ years of experience in content licensing, copyright, or media rights.
* Deep expertise in the global copyright landscape, with absolute mastery of the Latin American market (especially Brazil), including pricing benchmarks and local industry dynamics.
* Proven track record of leading end-to-end, high-stakes negotiations, from sourcing to closing.
* Demonstrated ability to balance paid acquisition with partnership-based deals and value-exchange models.
* Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, with clear evidence of pricing power and deal-making impact.
* Established industry network, including relationships with studios, distributors, and active distribution channels.
* Understanding of digital streaming platforms and licensing models.
* Fluency in English;
Spanish or Portuguese is a strong plus.
