Supervisory Accountability Limited to the direction of an administrative assistant and students. Nature and Scope Internal contacts include administrators, faculty, staff and students, both within the department and university‑wide. External contacts include alumni, vendors, accreditation agencies and the general public. Principal Accountabilities Provide high‑level administrative support and assistance to the Dean, serving as the primary point of contact with internal and external constituencies. Compose correspondence independently on a wide variety of matters and research, prioritize and follow up on incoming issues, including those of a sensitive and confidential nature. Set and manage regular leadership meeting agendas to ensure alignment with the Dean’s priorities and facilitate proactive and collaborative communication across the college community. Manage agenda and logistics for monthly chair meetings and other department‑wide and leadership meetings. Support the Dean’s leadership of the accreditation process by documenting day‑to‑day work and ongoing quality improvement efforts. Prepare agendas and materials for the Dean, ensuring preparedness for meetings and informed on key issues. Core Competencies Effective oral and written communication. Soft skills for working effectively within a large, complex organization with diverse colleagues. Ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Minimum Requirements Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. Minimum of ten (10) years of progressively responsible experience, including managing administrative and strategic initiatives in higher education; minimum of five (5) years of supervisory experience. Proven experience handling confidential information with discretion, managing a large variety of details and coordinating complex projects during interruptions, and meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred experience working with executives and a board of trustees/directors; proven successful administrative experience in a university setting.
