At the forefront of risk management, we are seeking a seasoned professional to spearhead our efforts in mitigating threats to our organization. As a Risk Governance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive framework that anticipates and addresses potential risks across various domains.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement an effective risk management strategy, encompassing credit, market, liquidity, operational, and technology risks, ensuring seamless integration with our business operations.
* Conduct thorough risk assessments, including stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital adequacy evaluations, to identify areas of vulnerability and inform strategic decisions.
* Ensure timely and accurate submission of regulatory disclosures, adhering to financial institution and VASP reporting obligations.
Margins and Collateral Management:
* Lead the oversight of margin-account operations, fostering a culture of prudent lending and collateral management practices.
* Establish and review risk policies for margin lending and virtual asset collateral, defining maximum LTV ratios and haircut methodologies.
* Monitor key risk indicators, escalating breaches or deviations to senior management and the Board with actionable recommendations.
* Operate as an independent second-line function, maintaining objectivity while collaborating closely with Compliance, Finance, Operations, and Technology teams.
* Engage with internal/external auditors, regulatory bodies, and governance committees on matters related to risk management, capital adequacy, and prudential standards.
Requirements:
* Candidates must be legally residing in Brazil.
* A minimum of 7 years of experience in senior-level risk management roles within financial institutions, fintechs, or crypto/virtual asset firms is required.
* Demonstrated independence from commercial functions and proven capability operating as a second-line or independent control function is essential.
* Strong command of Central Bank of Brazil risk regulations, prudential rules, capital adequacy requirements, and VASP reporting obligations is mandatory.
* Expertise in market and liquidity risk frameworks, stress testing, scenario modeling, and margin-account governance involving virtual assets is highly valued.
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications are strongly preferred.
* Exceptional analytical skills, strong quantitative capabilities, excellent communication, and full professional fluency in Portuguese and English are required.
