About the Middle Mile Logistics Role
The Middle Mile Supervisor is responsible for overseeing logistics operations involving the movement of goods between distribution centers, fulfillment centers, and other key locations. This role involves managing transportation to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of products.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop strategies to optimize supply chain operations in the Middle Mile segment.
* Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and transportation providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.
* Monitor transportation costs, performance metrics, and KPIs to drive efficiency and cost savings.
* Analyze transportation routes, modes of transport, and delivery schedules to improve service levels and reduce lead times.
* Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices in Middle Mile logistics operations.
* Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.
* Lead a team of logistics specialists and coordinators.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
* Proven experience in supply chain management, logistics, or transportation operations, with a focus on the Middle Mile segment.
* Strong analytical skills and proficiency in TMS and supply chain software.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
* Ability to lead a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
* Knowledge of industry best practices, transportation regulations, and market trends in Middle Mile logistics.
* Certification in supply chain management or logistics (e.g., CSCMP, APICS) is a plus.
* Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) is desirable.
