Software Release Manager
About this role
We are seeking a seasoned Release Manager to lead our software release process, ensuring seamless and timely delivery of high-quality products.
This role will coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout the development lifecycle to guarantee the quality and timeliness of releases, monitor progress during release windows, and identify areas for improvement through testing feedback.
The position also involves developing reports and metrics to communicate release performance to stakeholders.
* Key Responsibilities:
* Plan, coordinate, communicate, schedule, and facilitate software releases to meet business objectives.
* Collaborate with development, QA, operations, and change management teams to ensure readiness and quality.
* Monitor and communicate release progress, identify risks, and escalate issues as needed.
* Facilitate release meetings and maintain release calendars.
* Review testing outcomes and work with QA to address defects and improvement opportunities.
* Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes and rollback plans.
* Produce reports and metrics on release performance and communicate findings to stakeholders.
* Ensure compliance with established release management policies and best practices.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives for release processes.
Requirements
* A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
* 4+ years of experience in release coordination, change management, or related IT governance roles.
* Familiarity with SDLC processes and testing practices.
* Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Experience with tools such as JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, or similar for tracking and documentation.
