Descrição

Hi My name is Lena, and I am the founder of Go! Running Tours. This is not your usual job post. Instead of writing a fast-paced, bullet-pointed post with the words driven, team player, high performer, etc., I thought I would give it a go at simply writing the good, the bad, and the ugly about being a Business Development Executive with Go! Running Tours. Maybe no one will reply. Maybe many will. I just need one really good one! So let's start. Our new Business Development Executive will be responsible for our hotel market in the US, Asia and South America. It is an area that we have not focused on in the past, but we have had ad hoc partnerships with various hotels and in various forms, and the time has come to truly focus and succeed in this market. I am looking for a Business Developer who is ready to fully own and grow this market for us. It is a market with huge potential and with great interest in our running tours, and hotels we are currently working with include Mandarin, Hilton, and Marriott. You should be someone who gets super motivated by the fact that there is no straightforward playbook, but instead a lot of building blocks we need to put together to make the perfect Tetris game. When we have this, the world is your oyster, because what works in one hotel will likely be a success in another, and hotel managers talk. And here comes the true superpower of what you are selling. While there are many local running tour providers in each city, Go! Running Tours is the only global player. So when the global hotel chains start eyeing your success with a few of their hotels, you'll be able to enter into a global partnership. And that is really what we are aiming for! Our new colleague should believe in email outreach. It is our main channel of business generation, and while we don't do stone-cold emailing, we have had success with lukewarm and hot emailing in other markets in the past. You will be responsible for the campaigns and everything that goes with it in terms of crafting messages, building contact lists, and data work. I personally love spreadsheet work and get a kick out of using data extra smart, and if you enjoy that as well, you will thoroughly enjoy this part of the role. It is very important for me that you have the drive and passion to always reach higher. I am not looking for someone to simply do a routine job and be content when we start closing business. I want someone who is continuously energised by doing more, making progress, and growing and scaling. You should be constantly looking for new and better ways of doing things, testing initiatives, and learning new tech/solutions. We are counting on you to make this a global success (the first of its kind)! Drive and diligence are superpowers in this role! But it is not all rosy. It can be a challenge for hotels to prioritise the implementation of Go! Running Tours into their services. It is frustrating when we are just about to sign a contract and then our contact moves jobs. Or when you dream of marketing spending millions on LinkedIn ads for the leads to simply land in your inbox but know it's not in our budget. That is why you also need to have grit, perseverance, and an optimistic mindset in this role, because you will succeed. You've got this Our running tour service is both the most amazing product to sell and also somewhat difficult. Speak to a hotel manager who is a runner, and you'll be breezing through your presentation and the solution is implemented before you know it. Speak to a hotel manager who does not value wellbeing, and it takes a little more convincing. When it's a breeze, we are here with high fives. When it's harder, we brainstorm together with marketing and before they know it, even the nay-sayers are lacing up in their dri-fit! You will be working directly with me in the role. I love my job, and every day I am utterly grateful that I work in a company with a concept that "makes sense" to me and with colleagues who are skilled, helpful, and positive. Some people may find me difficult to work with, as I am impatient, I focus radically on progress, and I dislike sloppiness (with a passion). Most people, I believe (or at least hope), find me also kind, fun, optimistic, and understanding (admittedly still very little understanding for sloppiness ;-)). Before applying please read this paragraph again, and only progress if this type of colleague and work environment would motivate you. It is important We work remotely and have only 2 to 3 hours of internal meetings a week. All other time is reserved for client meetings, deep work, and basically getting things done. There is always time for a quick call and we are all on Slack, so you are not left alone in any way. We are just on the other side of the world The salary is not one that will secure you a Ferrari or a holiday to Mauritius (at least not to begin with). It is a salary that should be comfortable and is based on reduced working hours, so you can have a fun and fulfilling life besides work. The money should not be the main motivation for you. Running, bridging cultures, and being part of a fun, fast-moving and positive company should. The contract details are as follows: USD commission 30 hrs a week Managed via Upwork Oh, and hey if you're considering this role as an add-on to an already existing full-time job, then hold your horses. I don't believe in my colleagues working 60 hours a week, and it simply doesn't align with our company values. We want you to have the energy, focus, and headspace to do great work and enjoy life outside of it. Last but not least, I am looking for someone who wears the "company shirt". This role should not be a left-hand job to simply earn money (to be honest, it would be a waste of an amazing job). This should be a role you are excited about, a product/service you think is fun and exciting to present to clients, and Go! Running Tours should be a company you enjoy representing and are eager to contribute to the overall success. The most important traits to bring to the role are being a fast mover, a super collaborator, and having a sharp focus on closing a partnership. Answer emails straight away, answer Slack messages, follow up, follow up again, close the deal, and work with the hotels to ensure our services are implemented. That's it, I think. I have probably left out loads of super important things, but at least this gives you some idea. If you feel this role could be for you, then please write to me via with a short spiel on why you feel you're right for the role and why you would like to work at Go! Running Tours (no AI please, we want to know the real you, not the ChatGPT version ). Thanks for reading this far, Lena
