As a Sr. Developer you will play a crucial role in designing developing and maintaining robust database solutions and reports using ANSI SQL and IBM Cognos. This often involves performing root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring issues.User Support and Training: Serving as a primary point of contact for end-users, providing technical assistance, answering queries, and sometimes training users on how to effectively use Cognos tools for reporting and analysis.System Monitoring and Performance Tuning: Monitoring system performance, auditing usage, and optimizing existing reports, queries (SQL), and data models (Framework Manager models) to ensure efficiency and minimal downtime.Maintenance and Administration: Performing routine administrative tasks such as user group maintenance, managing security permissions, applying software upgrades, patches, and managing change control processes.Development Support: Collaborating with Cognos developers and business analysts to understand requirements, test reports, address production defects, and ensure developed solutions align with business needs and best practices.Documentation: Creating and maintaining technical documentation, troubleshooting guides, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the Cognos environment and applications.Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams, including data warehousing, ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) teams, and third-party vendors (like IBM) to resolve issues and enhance the BI ecosystem.Qualifications:Experience 6 to 9 yearsDemonstrate proficiency in ANSI SQL showcasing the ability to design and optimize complex queries and database solutions.Exhibit expertise in IBM Cognos Reports and Administration ensuring effective report creation and system management.Possess strong skills in database management and SQL with a focus on enhancing data accessibility and reliability.Experience in IT business support is highly desirable contributing to the alignment of database solutions with business objectives.Familiarity with engineering and design processes is a plus supporting integration and collaboration across teams.Adaptability to hybrid work environments ensuring effective communication and collaboration with remote and on-site teams.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on identifying and resolving database and reporting issues efficiently.Certifications RequiredIBM Certified Designer - Cognos Analytics Reports ANSI SQL Certification
