About the Role
We are looking for a highly analytical Market Data Database Engineer support a market data platform handling real-time financial data and time-series database .
This role is focused on production support, deep diagnosis, and database troubleshooting in a fast-paced capital markets environment, working closely with traders, vendors, and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform advanced diagnosis and root cause analysis of production incidents related to market data systems
* Support and troubleshoot time-series databases
* Analyze data quality issues (missing, delayed, or incorrect market data)
* Investigate system behavior using logs, queries, and system-level tools
* Work with real-time data distribution systems (TREP / RTDS)
* Validate data using tools such as Refinitiv SLang
* Collaborate with vendors (e.g. London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG), Bloomberg) to resolve data-related issues
* Support incident management processes and ensure timely resolution
* Develop small scripts (Python/Bash/PowerShell) for troubleshooting and automation
* Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring, alerting, and support processes
Must-Have Skills
* Strong experience in production support / application support
* Proven expertise in diagnosis and root cause analysis (RCA)
* Solid experience with databases (performance analysis, data validation)
* Hands-on experience with debugging, troubleshooting, and log analysis
* Good scripting skills (Python, Bash, or similar)
* Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work under pressure
Nice-to-Have
* Experience in banking / capital markets / trading environments
* Knowledge of market data systems (TREP / RTDS)
* Experience with Refinitiv SLang
* Familiarity with Process Monitor (ProcMon) or similar diagnostic tools
* Exposure to Bloomberg or Refinitiv/LSEG data platforms
