The SAP Functional Consultant for Inventory Management serves as a senior functional expert responsible for governing, designing, and supporting SAP solutions across multiple ERP environments. This role ensures consistency, scalability, and alignment of SAP capabilities across both ECC and S/4HANA instances while supporting business operations in a global, multi-instance landscape. The consultant partners with business stakeholders, architects, delivery teams, and managed services providers to drive standardized solutions and enable efficient, consistent operations across regions.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the functional subject-matter expert for SAP Inventory Management (IM) and Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) across ECC and S/4HANA environmentsProvide functional governance to ensure consistency of processes and solutions across multiple SAP instancesReview and approve functional designs, configurations, and enhancements delivered by AMS partnersEnsure solutions align with SAP best practices, clean-core principles, and enterprise standardsPartner with Architects to assess solution feasibility and integration impactsSupport business process harmonization efforts across regions and ERP landscapesProvide functional input into backlog refinement, solution design, and delivery planningSupport system, integration, and user acceptance testing activitiesAssist with cutover, deployment, and post–go-live stabilizationIdentify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and improve SAP-enabled business processesMaintain functional documentation, configuration standards, and process guidanceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field7–12 years of SAP functional experience within the assigned module(s)Proven experience supporting SAP S/4HANA implementations or transformationsExperience working in multi-instance SAP landscapes (ECC and S/4HANA)Strong understanding of end-to-end business processes within CPG, retail, or foodservice industriesExperience governing solutions delivered by AMS or external SAP partnersAbility to work effectively in a global, matrixed organizationFluency in English and Spanish (required)CapabilitiesStrong understanding of SAP Inventory Management and Extended Warehouse Management within CPG organizations, including inventory control, warehouse operations, inbound/outbound logistics, and integration with S/4HANA manufacturing, quality, and financial processes.SAP governance and standardization across ERP landscapesStrong understanding of S/4HANA and clean-core principlesAbility to balance global standards with local operational needsVendor and AMS oversightAnalytical problem solving and process improvement mindsetStrong communication skills across business and technical teams
