Job Description
This is a contract remote role for an Audio Editor. The Audio Editor will be responsible for editing audio files, enhancing sound quality, implementing sound design, adding music, and ensuring overall quality control. The role involves working closely with the content team to maintain brand consistency and meet deadlines efficiently.
Responsibilities
* Edit raw audio into polished, broadcast-ready episodes
* Remove filler words, false starts, redundancies, and off-topic tangents
* Improve pacing, clarity, and flow without changing the speaker's voice or intent
* Restructure sections when needed based on how questions were answered
* Insert intro/outro, sponsor reads, disclaimers, or updates when required
* Follow embedded audio notes and written instructions carefully
* Deliver clean final WAV/MP3 files on deadline
* Produce short clips per episode for marketing use
* Support up to two rounds of edits per episode when requested
Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
* Proven experience editing long-form podcasts (interview or narrative style)
* Strong editorial judgment — you know what to cut and why
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
* Comfortable working with physician and expert-level conversations
* Fast, reliable turnaround times
* Clear, professional communication
* Familiarity with tools like Descript, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, Logic, or similar
