Position Overview
The Logistics Engineer will lead and support logistics projects, facility layout design, process optimization and project execution and logistics performance analysis across our operations. This role is hands-on and analytical, working closely with operations, management and IT to improve efficiency, service levels, and cost performance.
The position plays a key role in designing, analyzing, and implementing logistics solutions within a 4PL environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning and execution of logistics projects (new operations, expansions, transitions, improvements).
- Support implementation of SAP ECC/EWM-related process changes.
- Track project milestones, risks, and benefits realization.
- Support warehouse and facility layout design (storage systems, picking flows, staging areas).
- Evaluate and offer recomendations on capacity, space utilization, and material flow.
- Lead redesigns for new customers, volume growth, or process changes.
- Support equipment selection and layout optimization (racking, MHE, automation when applicable).
- Map and document logistics processes (AS-IS / TO-BE).
- Apply Lean / Six Sigma / continuous improvement methodologies.
- Standardize processes across operations and clients.
- Support SOP / SOW creation and process documentation.
- Act as a technical logistics reference for internal teams and customers.
- Support network optimization and operational strategy discussions.
- Prepare analyses and presentations for customers and management.
- Analyze operational performance (productivity, utilization, throughput, service level, cost).
- Define, monitor, and improve logistics KPIs for warehousing and transportation.
- Build dashboards, reports, and business cases to support decision-making.
- Identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics or related field.
- 2–5+ years of experience in logistics engineering, operations, continuous improvement.
- Strong analytical skills and data-driven mindset.
- Solid understanding of:
o Warehouse operations (receiving, storage, picking, packing, shipping)
o Logistics KPIs and productivity metrics
- Advanced Excel skills (Power Query / Pivot / formulas);
Power BI is a plus.
- Experience with WMS (SAP EWM is a plus).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
