Shape Safer Environments Through Technical Excellence
Every building has a story hidden within its structure. As an Asbestos Surveyor, you’ll be the person who uncovers the detail, applies technical expertise and ensures that clients across the UK can make informed, safe and confident decisions. If you enjoy autonomy, thrive in varied environments and take pride in accuracy and clarity, this role offers genuine scope to grow, influence and create meaningful impact.
We have multiple roles available that will either cover locations across the Southeast and London or solely cover the Darlington area in the Northeast. In addition to the very competitive salary and overtime rates, we also offer a company car or a car allowance, giving you the flexibility and support you need for your role.
Purpose & Scope of the Role
This role exists to deliver high quality, UKAS compliant asbestos surveying services across a wide-ranging portfolio of commercial and industrial properties. You will carry out management, refurbishment and demolition surveys, collecting precise inspection data and producing clear, robust reports aligned with UKAS accreditation and HSE guidance. Working largely independently on client sites, you will conduct detailed inspections, bulk sampling and risk assessments, offering technically sound insights that support compliance, risk control and asset management. You will work closely with internal quality and project teams while interacting directly with clients, facilities personnel and other stakeholders.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you will operate across offices, public buildings, retail, healthcare, education, manufacturing and infrastructure environments. The role involves travelling to multiple sites, managing personal workloads and deadlines, and ensuring exceptional data integrity. All work is supported by digital surveying tools, structured reporting systems and a mature quality assurance framework.
Your Impact in This Position
In the early stages, you will establish yourself as a dependable technical specialist, delivering consistently high quality surveys and building trusted relationships with both clients and colleagues. As your experience deepens, you will gain exposure to larger, more complex survey projects and play a part in service improvements and broader consultancy activities. This includes involvement in major commercial and industrial projects, reinspection projects and asbestos management reviews.
Longer‑term, this position offers multiple progression pathways, including senior surveying responsibilities, technical auditing, project management or leadership roles within the consultancy. Ongoing professional development and access to diverse sites and contracts provide a strong foundation for sustained career growth.
Core Capabilities

Asbestos Surveying – Plan and deliver comprehensive management, refurbishment and demolition surveys across commercial and industrial environments, identifying and sampling asbestos‑containing materials with precision.
Asbestos Expertise – Serve as the trusted technical authority, understanding asbestos materials, behaviours and associated risks across demanding sectors such as aviation, pharmaceuticals and utilities.
Regulatory Compliance and Technical Knowledge – Apply asbestos legislation and industry standards with confidence, ensuring every survey is compliant, proportionate and grounded in evidence.
Data Capturing, Reporting & Quality Assurance – Record detailed observations, assessments and sample information using digital platforms, and produce well‑structured technical reports that reflect attention to detail and clarity.
Client Communication & Consultancy Skills – Communicate technical findings clearly and professionally, fostering trust and providing proportionate, actionable advice to clients, facilities teams and project managers.

Qualifications & Experience
You will hold BOHS P402 or an equivalent RSPH qualification, along with demonstrable experience of undertaking asbestos surveys within a UKAS accredited setting. You will already be authorised for management, refurbishment and demolition surveys and bring strong IT, literacy and numeracy skills. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Working Environment
We support flexible arrangements, including three or four day working weeks. Overtime opportunities may be available and are remunerated at enhanced rates. You will plan site visits in advance to support effective scheduling and maintain a healthy work‑life balance. Periodic office attendance is expected for collaboration, training, quality reviews and wider team engagement. The role involves regular travel to client sites and occasional support for out‑of‑hours projects.
