The Advanced Practitioner (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) provides healthcare services under supervision or collaboration with an attending physician. Responsibilities include medical evaluation, treatment, counseling, referrals, diagnostic evaluations, therapeutic procedures, surgical assistance, and pharmaceutical prescriptions.
The Advanced Practitioner acts as a patient advocate and participates in patient satisfaction, quality, and performance improvement initiatives.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
* Assess, treat, counsel, and educate patients and their families.
* Perform physical examinations and update medical histories.
* Order and interpret diagnostic tests to identify abnormal conditions.
* Develop and implement patient management and treatment plans.
* Coordinate care with other healthcare professionals.
* Provide high-quality, evidence-based healthcare.
* Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as granted clinical privileges.
* Conduct virtual care services via St. Luke’s platform, assisting in care coordination and escalation.
* Maintain professional knowledge through education and professional activities.
* Participate in research, guideline development, and teaching of students and residents.
* Engage in performance improvement activities.
* Utilize electronic medical records effectively for documentation and billing.
* Use resources efficiently, perform routine health maintenance, and coordinate with public and mental health agencies as needed.
* Educate patients on wellness and prevention, providing relevant materials.
Physical and Sensory Requirements: Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, reach, handle, see, hear, and speak as described.
Education: Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with current licensure in PA or NJ. PAs must be NCCPA certified.
