Role: Head of Market Segment / Sales Director - Mining
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Sales Director - Europe to lead and accelerate growth within a Mining and Metals Division across the European markets. This role is responsible for defining and executing the regional sales strategy, driving revenue growth, expanding market share, and strengthening relationships with key customers, OEMs, and channel partners.
The ideal candidate brings deep experience in mining and metal processing equipment sales, strong leadership capabilities, and a proven track record of delivering profitable growth in complex, multi-country environments.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive European sales strategy for the Mining equipment portfolio aligned with global business objectives.
Identify growth opportunities across priority segments such as mining, aggregates, quarrying, and mineral processing, including primary, secondary, and tertiary applications.
Drive market penetration through a mix of direct sales, key account management, and distributor/channel development.
Sales & Revenue Growth
Own regional revenue, margin, and order intake targets.
Lead major customer negotiations and long-term supply agreements with strategic accounts.
Monitor sales performance, pipeline health, forecasting accuracy, and pricing discipline across the region.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead, coach, and develop a diverse, multi-country sales organization.
Set clear objectives, performance metrics, and development plans for regional sales managers and key account leaders.
Foster a high-performance, customer-centric sales culture.
Customer & Market Engagement
Build strong executive-level relationships with key customers, engineering firms, and OEM partners.
Represent the company at major industry events, trade shows, and customer forums.
Gather and communicate market intelligence, customer feedback, and competitive insights to internal stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with marketing, product management, application engineering, operations, and service teams to deliver customer-focused solutions.
Support product launches, portfolio positioning, and value-based selling initiatives tailored to Mining, Metals, and Mineral Processing applications.
Collaborate with global teams to align regional needs with product and innovation roadmaps.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field (MBA preferred).
10+ years of progressive sales experience in industrial equipment, pumps, valves, or process technology, with significant exposure to Mining and Metal industries.
Proven success leading regional or multinational sales teams in Europe.
Strong understanding of consultative and value-based selling in technically complex environments.
Experience working with both direct sales and distributor/channel models.
Willingness to travel extensively across Europe.
