Position Title: Import/Export Coordinator

Our Client is a leading global expert in the provision of welding and coating services and operates in several jurisdictions around the world.
The Role
As a proactive, strategic leader you will own and transform the company's International Trade (Import/Export) department within the Brazil entity. Moving beyond the administration, you will be responsible for re-engineering the current business model, identifying tax-saving opportunities (e.G., preferential tariffs, Ex-tarifário), and building a scalable, high-efficiency Import Team.
Key Responsibilities
* Audit current import/export workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement\ "best-in-class\" process improvements.
* Support the transition onto ERP system for the Brazil Logistics entity & lead continuous improvement post go-live.
* Ensure rigorous Harmonized System (NCM) classification to prevent fines and optimize duty rates, identifying preferential agreements based on origin, etc.
* Act as the primary point of contact for Brazilian regulatory bodies and maintain a high-integrity relationship with customs authorities.
* Monitor and interpret changes in Brazilian customs legislation to ensure business compliance.
* Lead the strategy for resolving complex customs delays or legal discrepancies, minimizing storage costs and lead times. Be the escalation point & the liaison between Projects & Logistics & support all movements Import/Export for the Brazil entity.
* Ensure compliance with trade laws and customs regulations. Proactively leverage agreements, and Drawback schemes to minimize tax exposure and improve margins.
Job Specific Education Required:
* Deep knowledge of Siscomex (Portal Único), ICMS/IPI/PIS/COFINS tax impacts on imports, and special customs regimes.
Work Experience Required:
* Previous experience in import and export operations.
* Familiarity with ERP systems and foreign trade platforms (e.G., Siscomex,ECAC).
Skills & Knowledge Required:
* Fluent in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
* Knowledge of Brazilian customs legislation.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
