Kaspersky Americas GReAT is looking for an exceptional intern to collaborate on cybersecurity research projects. The ideal candidate will be a talented and motivated individual with a strong background in Computer Science or Cybersecurity.
The selected intern will have the opportunity to work on various research projects, develop skills in malware analysis, reverse engineering, and threat intelligence, and interact with local team members throughout the Americas.
This position is perfect for university students enrolled in a related field who are eager to learn and contribute to the industry.
Responsibilities:
* Support research projects by developing processes, defining priorities, and following deadlines
* Analyze malicious functionality in Windows x86/x64, MSIL, mobile threats, and web-related malware
* Stay up-to-date with the latest malware threats affecting customers
* Communicate with clients regarding adding detections
* Participate in the development of unit recommended practices and standards
* Suggest ideas for new detection technologies and products
* Create content, such as threat intel reports and documentation
* Present IT security information to wide audiences
* Monitor and analyze malware trends at local, regional, and global levels
Requirements:
* Strong desire to learn and share research with teammates
* Interest in malware analysis and security research
* Knowledge of x86/x64 Intel Assembly (at least 1 year)
* Basic knowledge of WinAPI
* Familiarity with IDA Disassembler, HIEW, OllyDbg, or Windbg
* Executable file analysis skills in a hexadecimal editor
* Deep knowledge in several fields, including mobile device security and statistical analysis
* Able to analyze non-standard threats and understand malicious code
* Good knowledge of file formats and Linux OS distributions
* Fluency in English is mandatory
