Role Overview
As a Staff Engineer & Product Owner, you will own architecture, write production code daily (Python, Go), build and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub), modernize and refactor legacy systems safely, lead technical decisions, set engineering standards, mentor the team, define product vision, roadmap, priorities, and manage stakeholder expectations, act as the main interface for teams relying on our automation tools, and lead a small engineering team of 4-5 engineers.
Responsibilities
Own architecture and write production code daily (Python, Go)
Building & improving CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, GitHub)
Modernizing and refactoring legacy systems safely
Leading technical decisions, setting engineering standards, mentoring the team
Defining product vision, roadmap, priorities and managing stakeholder expectations
Acting as main interface for teams relying on our automation tools
Leading a small engineering team (4-5 engineers)
Qualifications
8+ years of experience in software engineering
3+ years of experience at senior/staff level
Strong hands‑on experience in Python
Practical experience with another language (Go, Java, etc.)
Solid background with GitLab CI/GitHub workflows
Strong Linux fundamentals: processes, permissions, shell, networking, packaging
Proven experience refactoring legacy systems
Experience owning a product/tool end‑to‑end, defining roadmaps, managing trade‑offs
Strong ownership mindset, comfortable in ambiguity and fast‑moving environments
English B2+
Preferred Qualifications
Vulnerability management, CVE/CVSS, or backporting experience
Experience with Linux packaging (RPM/DEB) or Java/Python/Go ecosystems
Practical use of LLM/AI in development workflows
Background in platform/enablement teams
