Participate in Groundbreaking AI Research
Turing invites electricians to collaborate on a unique research initiative, the Common Lives Project. As part of this project, you will wear a GoPro camera during your daily activities or recording sessions. Your footage will power future AI models that understand complex, real-world tasks.
The primary objective of this collaboration is to collect high-quality video data, which will be used to develop and enhance AI capabilities. By participating in this project, you will contribute significantly to advancing human-centered AI research.
As an electrician, you possess unique skills and knowledge that are essential for this project. Your expertise will enable you to capture diverse scenarios and environments, providing valuable insights for researchers and developers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Wear a head-mounted GoPro camera to record your daily activities for 5 separate days within a 2-week period.
* Record a minimum of 7 hours per day, with flexibility to take breaks and pause the camera for privacy purposes.
* At the end of each day, spend approximately 2 hours to review and process your footage:
* Upload your recordings to a secure platform.
* Review short clips.
* Choose to delete, anonymize, or consent to each video segment.
Project Requirements:
* No children (under 18) should be present or visiting during the recording period.
* All adults in the household must be fluent English speakers and provide informed consent to being recorded.
* Participants must reside in a private, self-contained apartment, building, or indoor work environment.
* Household members must agree to appear in the footage.
Participant Eligibility:
* Must work indoors in non-customer-facing roles, such as office work or manual labor.
* Participants who share the same workplace or household should both have a GoPro mounted during the activity.
* Preferably engaged in manual or creative work, including electricians, chefs, bakers, artists, carpenters, musicians, or mechanics.
* Self-employed individuals or those with employer consent can participate in the project.
* Able to use a computer for basic tasks, such as reviewing and uploading video clips.
Technical Specifications:
* Access to a computer and internet connection is required.
* Comfortable using web-based tools for uploading and reviewing clips, with training provided as needed.
* GoPro cameras and accessories will be provided for the duration of the project.
