The way we share ideas, learning, experiences, successes, and joy allows everyone to be their best at Ascendion.About the Role :Location : LATAM3 .Employment Type : ContractJob Summary : Key Responsibilities : ResponsibilitiesWe are looking to hire a talented DB2 UDB Database Administrator to manage large enterprise DB2 database systems, bring in best practices and solutions to continuously improve the environment.Experience in handling and preventing different types of DB2 failuresAdept at defining backup policies, managing backup and recovery failuresPlanning and scheduling maintenance activities and executing the same across enterprise level – Patching, creation or maintenance of DB2 objectsExperienced in monitoring and managing the environment viz. space, memory, CPU proactively through automated proceduresExperience in managing DB2 securityExperience in maintaining mainframe / DB2 jobs and minimizing / preventing failuresAdept at handling performance issues and applying permanent resolutions proactively and through problem management.Minimize database downtime and manage parameters to provide fast query responsesDetermine, enforce and document database policies, procedures and standardsPerform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy and integrityAs needed, implement approved database configurations / corrections to mitigate database performance / connectivity due to planned or unplanned incidents.Regularly maintain database security policiesAutomate database jobs and increase efficiency of the system.Identify RCA for specific incidentsPerform performance analysis / tuning of databaseCommunicate effectively with internal and external audiences with varying levels of technical expertise.Provide and implement effective solutions while best using the DB2 product for ideal database sizing, optimal database performance, enhanced and automated monitoring, migration and upgrade of databases, compliance to security (SOX) standardsProfile :Strongly skilled in DB2 database versions 10, 12 under Z / OS platformInstall, patch and maintain all DB2 softwareTune all DB2 instance componentsControl all migrations of DB2 schema objectsUse high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup dataMust have migrated and upgraded DB2 databases, finetuned and sized DB2 environments, suggested and implemented best practices of IBM DB2Adherence to Change management process for any configuration as per organizational policies.Good to have Oracle or MS SQL Database administration experience or both.Knowledge in ITIL with exposure to Support ITIL processes and ticketing toolsGood to have database automation experience.
