We’re hiring a Senior Accountant for our São Paulo office! We’re looking for an experienced professional with strong accounting knowledge, fluent in English, and with an analytical and collaborative mindset. This role involves month-end close, financial analysis, audit support, and process improvement. If you value a dynamic and inclusive work environment, we’d love to hear from you!DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:Provides coaching and support to less experienced team membersUnderstands and is able to apply accounting principles and policies and stays up to date with changesPrepares and reviews account reconciliations in month end closing processPrepares complex journal entries for the monthly financial statement closeAnalyzes revenues and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis and report on variancesProactively seeks additional responsibilities as existing workload is optimized and automated awaySupports, documents, monitors, and executes internal controlAssists with external audit requestsCoordinates accounting matters with other departmentsInitiates, organizes, and leads team meetings, working sessions, and project-based check-insResponds to escalated and complex queries from various stakeholders, and advises on solutionsPrepares reports such as balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other documents that project the organization's financial positionPrepares monthly financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly financial statement close scheduleAnalyzes accounting procedures, processes, and tasks, recommending and executing improvements with the aim of reducing redundancy, building efficiency, and increasing productivity, while ensuring compliance with company financial policiesAssists with completion of quarterly and annual regulatory filingsOther duties or responsibilities as assigned according to the team and/or country specific requirementsQUALIFICATIONSRequired:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or universityRelevant work experienceAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of programsSite Specific: Fluent in Spanish and English (written and verbal)Preferred:Experience with Oracle Financials Cloud and other cloud-based Oracle solutionsExperience with MS Access and SQLExperience with business process optimization in an accounting environmentCPA, CMA, or relevant professional certification (active or inactive, from any jurisdiction)Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsAccountability to protect organization's value by keeping information confidentialStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to act and operate independently to accomplish objectives while taking accountability for work productAbility to work within a team and liaise well across departments and functionsValues a diverse and inclusive work environmentDisclaimer:This job description is intended to generally describe the nature and level of work to be performed by employees in this position.
