Job Title: Land Survey Field Technician
Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative professional to perform surveying and mapping work. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collecting data on land, utilities, structures, roads, and other permanent features. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across the state, with occasional extended travel.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct conventional leveling surveys and assist in GPS data collection to determine elevations.
2. Search for, recover, and set existing survey markers, and set stakes to mark locations.
3. Process surveying data collected in the field, and assist licensed surveyors in analyzing the data.
4. Take accurate field notes and maintain organized field books.
5. Clear lines using a brusher or chain saw, swamping as needed.
6. Dig for boundary points, set rebar, and perform physical tasks that involve bending, kneeling, lifting, and carrying.
7. Hike, climb, and balance in rough terrain for extended periods.
8. Frequently lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25-50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs.
Requirements
* Experience in surveying and mapping principles.
* Familiarity with GPS and Trimble software.
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment.
* Frequent travel and ability to work in remote areas.
