Technical Business Analyst – FIX Protocol / Trading Applications We are looking for a Technical Business Analyst with strong experience in FIX Protocol and trading applications to support technology initiatives within a global financial services environment. This role requires a professional who can work closely with business stakeholders, product teams, application development teams and vendors to gather, analyze, document and validate business and technical requirements for trading-related systems. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working with SQL queries, UNIX log analysis, functional specifications, data flows, system integrations and UAT support. Key responsibilities - Gather, analyze and document business, functional and technical requirements for trading applications. - Work closely with business stakeholders, developers, vendors and product teams to define and validate technology solutions. - Create and maintain functional specifications, business rules, exception rules and process documentation. - Analyze system data across multiple platforms, including UNIX, FIX, Oracle, SQL Server and mainframe environments. - Perform SQL queries and UNIX log analysis to support requirements definition, issue investigation and validation. - Translate business needs into clear technical requirements for development teams. - Support data sourcing activities, validating data completeness from acquisition through report or system delivery. - Define and support testing requirements, test cases and UAT activities. - Conduct functional walkthroughs and obtain business sign-off. - Track project risks, defects, change requests and delivery status. - Support multiple projects or workstreams in parallel within the software development lifecycle. Required experience - 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Technical Business Analyst. - Strong experience with FIX Protocol. - Experience working with trading applications or capital markets platforms. - Hands-on experience with SQL queries. - Experience with UNIX log analysis. - Ability to write clear functional and technical requirements. - Experience creating FSDs, business requirements, test cases and UAT documentation. - Good understanding of system integrations, data flows and application troubleshooting. - Ability to translate technical concepts to business stakeholders and business requirements to technical teams. - Experience working with developers, vendors, product managers and business SMEs. - Advanced English for communication with global teams. Nice to have - Experience in financial services, brokerage, investment banking, wealth management or capital markets. - Knowledge of Oracle, SQL Server or mainframe environments. - Experience with data governance standards. - Experience leading small projects or coordinating workstreams. - Experience working in Agile or hybrid delivery models. Ideal profile The ideal candidate is not a purely functional BA. We are looking for a hands-on Technical Business Analyst who understands trading systems, can analyze FIX messages, read UNIX logs, write SQL queries, document requirements clearly and work directly with both business and technology teams.
