The Senior Compliance Manager will join the global legal and compliance team, with a primary focus on Brazil and the broader Latin American regulatory landscape. This role requires a proactive self-starter with a strong interest in financial innovation and digital assets, who thrives in a cross-functional, fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will lead regulatory and licensing efforts related to crypto operations in Brazil while supporting regional expansion initiatives.
Responsibilities:
* Lead regulatory compliance strategy and licensing/registration efforts for crypto-related activities in Brazil, including engagement with the Central Bank of Brazil (BCB), Comissão de Valores Mobiliários (CVM), and other relevant authorities
* Monitor and interpret developments in Brazil’s crypto regulatory framework (e.g., Law No. 14,478/2022 and related regulations), and assess their impact on business operations
* Act as the primary project manager for licensing and regulatory initiatives, coordinating with external counsel, consultants, and internal stakeholders
* Provide clear, practical, and solution-oriented compliance guidance to product, operations, and business teams to enable compliant product launches and expansion
* Deliver internal training programs and update training materials to reflect regulatory changes and best practices
* Represent the company in interactions with regulators, financial institutions, partners, and industry groups in Brazil
Knowledge:
* Strong understanding of Brazil’s crypto and financial regulatory environment, including digital asset frameworks and payment systems (e.g., PIX)
* Familiarity with AML/CFT regulations, data protection (LGPD), and financial consumer protection laws in Brazil
* Experience in the crypto, fintech, or payments industry is highly preferred
* Understanding of global regulatory trends in digital assets is a plus
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business, or a related field
* 7 to 9 years of regulatory compliance experience, with at least 3 years focused on crypto, fintech, payments, or financial services in Brazil
* Proven experience handling regulatory licensing, compliance frameworks, and regulator engagement in Brazil
* Ability to advise on regulatory implications for product design, modification, and market expansion
* Strong ability to navigate a dynamic and evolving regulatory landscape with ambiguity
* Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to work cross-functionally with senior management
* Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to remain composed under pressure
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Portuguese (Mandarin is a plus but not required)
* Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver practical, scalable compliance solutions
* Proficiency in MS Office applications
