Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Platform Engineer to join our engineering team focused on scaling and securing high-volume healthcare data platforms. The ideal candidate has a strong background in SQL Server, DBA practices, orchestration tools, and modern data architecture. You will be responsible for improving database performance, monitoring environments, and ensuring smooth data workflows.
Responsibilities
* Write and optimize complex SQL queries in SQL Server
* Manage database jobs, backups, indexes, and performance tuning
* Investigate and resolve database performance issues
* Create and maintain documentation such as runbooks and data flow diagrams
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify platform needs
* Contribute to incident management workflows, including root cause analysis
* Work with orchestration tools like Argo Workflows or Airflow
* Support and evolve the data lake environment
* Scale data processes across microservices and teams
Qualifications
* Deep experience with SQL Server and SSMS
* Solid DBA background: backups, monitoring, optimization
* Experience with orchestration tools (Argo, Airflow, Jenkins)
* Knowledge of PostgreSQL and DBT
* Strong documentation and communication skills
* Proactive in performance optimization
* Ability to collaborate across teams
Nice to Have
* Experience with Python scripting
* Exposure to Kubernetes environments
