A data migration specialist plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless transitions of data from legacy systems to new platforms. The primary objective is to maintain data integrity, security, and accessibility throughout the migration process.
This includes designing and implementing data migration processes using SQL, data mapping, and transformation techniques to optimize efficiency.
Data integrity and quality are ensured during the migration process through regular audits and validation checks.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8-10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in data migration and management. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field is required.
Proficiency in SQL and data migration tools like Talend and Informatica is essential. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to work independently and in a team are also crucial.
